You need at least 2 years' continuous service with your employer to qualify for statutory redundancy pay under the Employment Rights Act 1996 s.155. Based on your service length, you may not be entitled. However, your employment contract may still provide for a redundancy payment — check your contract or ask your employer.

Tax-free up to £30,000
Statutory redundancy pay is not subject to income tax or National Insurance up to £30,000. This applies to both statutory and enhanced redundancy payments combined. Any amount above £30,000 will be taxed.
